A lovely Limoges Set by Lazarus ( or Lewis) Straus & Sons, who set up a small business of china made in Limoges, France in New York City at R.H. Macy's and then became sole owners of Macy's in 1896. This set dates to the late 1800s in very good condition, unused, no utensil marks or wear on glaze though the shell-motifs on the tray & 6 plates have been restored by a professional restorer. For some reason there was wear on the shell- motifs and everything else is 99% perfect! Tray measures 16" X 9", each plate measures 6 3/4" wide X 1 " High. Two have Roses, 3 Astor flowers or Passion flowers & 1, both rose & astor. ,perfect condition, there are delicate, fine gold lines surrounding & accenting green C-scrolls that do not show up in photos. Each marked with a Dove, too.
