Lovely Royal Copenhagen "Amager Boy" with the earliest Crown mark of Juliane Marie, Queen of Denmark. A Royal Copenhagen Sculptor Carl Mark Hansen designed a set of 10 figurines in 1923 of traditional Danish costumes (nationaldraft), the Amager Boy is one of the best. With this earliest of marks, it maybe the original! Colours are very vibrant due to the unique process that was used for the enamelling. A few, about 6, very tiny flecks as pin spots, off of the leaves, otherwise perfect. Measures 5 3/4" high. delightful treasure! Prices on -line are $5,000. without any indication of a mark! There are some on internet with 'Denmark' noted making these a later production.. This one is not marked with 'Denmark". There was a little smug mark on his knee, now removed with a little soap and water.
