Antique English Watercolour painting of Cows drinking water in a Brook that runs in front of a Farmhouse setting with multiple buildings with a mountain range in background.. Measures 14 1/2 " wide x 9" high... Set in a Giltwood =24 karat gold gesso frame measuring 24" X 18" x 2 .2" in perfect condition.. circa 1870.. The Artist, E. Taylor, was born in 1780 and died in 1830. I researched the internet and contacted Christie's Auction House.. A painting by E. Taylor sold at Christie's South Kensington in 2002 called "The Home of the Red Deer, near Braemer ".. When I examined the two paintings together, along with other of his paintings, I concluded, they are all definitely by the same artist, E. Taylor... very fine , gentle brush work and intricate details.. atmospheric realism too.. Lovely.... Signed in the lower-left ... I just noticed that the mountain range in this painting is similar to the one that sold at Christie's auction in 2002! Also there are 2-3 sheep and a dog and a farmer with the 5 cows..
