A Lovely Little French Faience of Lovers in a garden setting in 24 karat gold details with raised cartouches and delicate brush-strokes , with a sculptured, raised surface with delicately made gold tassels .. made when Louis the 16th was still King of France. ( legs are straight not cabriole as with Louis the 14th).. In very good condition with the two back legs slightly (re struck) professionally restored.. tiny imperfections in glaze. I think it maybe porcelain with an exceptional shiny deep glaze.. a little gem measuring 5 1/2" high x 3 1/4" wide x 3" deep.. Back of chair is all white., no designs.. Marked on base with mark of 1777 as shown in Kovel's book "Dictionary of Marks - Pottery and Porcelain " page 209... This mark on chair is Honore Savy of Marseilles.. info on internet..
