This is another very old and beautiful obi (Japanese sash belt for kimono.) It is 133-1/2" long and 8-1/2" wide (or 17" when opened out). The main colors are orange and pewter with silver and gold. The design consists of temari balls (originally toy balls but now works of art) and flowers (peonies or mums). There is a pulled loose thread and all of the grey areas have some wear. See photos. We have included pages from a wonderful book to show an example of how obis are used in décor.
