Here's a magnificent example of Dutch horology in perfect running condition from being completely gone through by a Swiss-trained master clock maker. Massive, yet graceful, the thick walnut case is beautifully carved at the pediment and animal paw feet. The original dark brown patina of the wood is the perfect counterpoint for the highly-detailed brass dial and the hand-painted lunar phases of the face.
An Eight day movement is regulated by an accurate deadbeat escapement and strikes on the hour and half-past with a deep mellow gong. Has a moon phase dial, a seconds hand, a calendar dial and a day of the week panel (in Dutch). Original working keys for the hood and case door locks as well as winding crank included.
Measures 7'11" tall, 25" wide at the base and 16" deep.
This clock is a "keeper" that your family will enjoy for generations!
