A seldom-seen variant of the "Vienna Regulator" featuring an ornate brass open pendulum instead of the pendulum usually suspended inside the case.
This one has a handsome carved and turned architectural gallery atop a hand painted porcelain dial, elaborate black hands.
The original brass movement is in great working condition and runs for two weeks (instead of 8 days) on one winding of the spring drive. It strikes with a sonorous gong on every hour and half-hour. Includes a winding key.
Marked on cast gong mount "DRG Munchen586" which is "Deutsche Reichs
Gebrauchsmuster" (German patent organization) first issued in 1891 and reissued every three years with a new date.
Measures 39" tall. Dial is 7" diameter. If you would like to see this item in person, please call us at 804-859-4000 to arrange an appointment.
