Mounted in its original gilded frame, this compelling mountain landscape. Probably painted around 1950 of a scene from his native Bavaria, this impressionistic interpretation by Franz Winter looks to be executed by palate knife in heavy impasto. Paint is crazed overall and there is no evidence of damage or restoration. Could use cleaning and varnishing as varnish has darkened.
