Here's an early, (1830's?) ovid, narrow based, brown stoneware whisky gallon jug with a full hand-sized loop handle. We're not certain as to whether it has a worn brown glaze or was originally painted brown. Most interestingly, it came with this ancient, hand-whittled wood stopper wrapped in painted and waxed canvas. The stopper had fallen inside.
If it weren't for a stable 6" long hairline crack (that does not leak, it would be considered in excellent condition. Measures 12" tall and 7-1/2" wide.
