Sold as a lot of eight, below wholesale so that a dealer can make a profit, various copperplate engraved prints of different tree's foliage. These are original engravings by J. Mynde from volume II of the 1743 English (London) edition of the French "Spectacle de la Nature". They were executed on hand-layed cotton rag paper and display prominent plate marks at the margins. As they were originally fold outs, the folds have been reinforced on the back with acid-free (reversible) Filmplast. The paper displays the yellowing consistent with age and has not been subjected to any cleaning or restoration. Each image averages 6" X 8".
