Purchased in Scotland 45 years ago, this delightful table has served many generations and wears its scars proudly. The short drop leaves are especially handy and hard to find. The leaves afford just that little additional surface with the simple ease of swinging out the little bracket supports. One nice deep drawer can be locked with the original skeleton key. It is strong, absolutely rock-solid and has never had any damage or structural repairs.
Miraculously this little table somehow escaped the heavy-handed ministrations of furniture re-finishers and still retains its original natural,
(not red) mahogany color. Undulations left by hand-planing have created lovely brown and amber highlights. The top alone could tell a hundred stories, its all there, traces of other people's lives; history that never dies.
The table measures 39" by 22" with the leaves down. When up they add 9" each side, which would make the extended size 40'X 39". It is 29" tall.
Aside from the physical signs of utilization there are a moderate number of tiny (benign-not active) worm holes throughout the piece and restoration to the tip of one foot.
We will deliver it to your door within 100 miles for $50, 200 miles for$150. Beyond that would have to be freight. Inquire for rates.
