No functional item lends itself to Rodin's iconic sculpture of "The Thinker" better than bookends. What could be more apropos to thought than reading?
This hefty iron set can probably do what they were designed to do (or maybe even serve as doorstops?) into the next millennium. They look as if they were originally copper plated over the iron but its nearly all worn off of one and maybe 50% on the other. Cast into the base of each is : "U44b COPYRIGHT 1927 GIFT HOUSE INC." and a trademark "BRO/MET pat'd 1925". They measure 6" tall, 4-1/4" wide.
