A breathtakingly realistic and full-scale osprey (sea eagle), ornithological icon of the Chesapeake created by a master carver in 1987. The handsome 16" long raptor stands alertly on a cluster of driftwood atop a turned wooden base.Every detail from primary to pin feather is meticulously executed in wood and paint with such skill and precision you'd almost swear you were looking at a piece of taxidermy instead of a woodcarving. The artist's signature and date are burned on the bottom of the mount. Suitable for a natural history museum! The carving is in perfect condition. There is no damage of any kind.
