As Liverpool become a leading port of the British Empire, the up and coming wealthy shopped at George Henry Lee & Co. on Basnett St.
These buttons came from that wonderful store, during the 1870's or 1880's. They are still in their original box with their original rings!
They are enameled in a rich chocolate brown over sterling silver. Their backs, I believe are brass.
Each button is 15mm or 5/8 inch. The enamel is dinged in some places, as they were well loved by their owner, but that does not detract from wearing and using them yourself. These are men's or women's. Can they be used as a stud set? I don't see why not.
The empty holes in the box contained the rings which I have attached to the buttons. Rest assured that the set is complete!
Backs are all equivalent.
You will enjoy these well crafted buttons!
