Here is a very nice WWII destroyer launch pinback button to add to your collection. It is being offered here by us for the first time. These three destroyers were launched on the same day on July 19, 1942 at the Federal Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. in Kearny, NJ. They were the (DD-618) U.S.S. Davison, (DD-619) U.S.S. Edwards, and (DD-465) U.S.S. Saufley. They all saw action during the war, and all three served mostly in the South Pacific. The Saufley however seems to have had the most memorable service during the war, earning 16 battle stars. This launching pinback button was probably given out to the workers, and visitors on the day of their launching. This pinback is in excellent condition and measures just over 2" across. It was made by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, NJ. Don't miss out on adding this very nice piece of WWII history to your collection. We attempt to be as accurate as possible with our descriptions, so there are no surprises to the lucky buyer. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
