Here is a nice The Adlake ( Adams & Westlake Company) lapel stud pin to add to your collection. The Adlake Company began in 1857, and still thrives as an all American made product today. They started out manufacturing and selling railroad supplies and hardware. They became one of the world's largest suppliers of equipment to the transportation industry. Today they specialize in custom, and semi-custom products, not only supplying a wide range of the transportation industry, but also many other industries and customer types. This lapel stud dates back to when the company was still based in Chicago, and its type dates it to ca. 1896 through the early 1900's. It isn't in mint condition, and has a few flaws, but is still a fairly rare lapel stud. The back attachment is fully intact, but loose. It measures 3/4" across its center. Don't miss out on adding this great piece of American railroad manufacturing related history to your collection.
