Here is an original Kewpie doll sterling charm to add to your collection. It is being offered here for the first time by us. The Kewpie was the inception of cartoon illustrator, Rose O'Neal, who ran the comic strips in 1909. Then began to illustrate, and sell paper doll versions of the Kewpies. The bisque dolls didn't start to be produced until 1912, and were made in Germany at first. This charm might have been a premium for possibly buying the bisque doll? Whatever the case, these original charms are not easily to find. It is marked on the back in raised letters from the top down, C.M.C. "Trade Kewpie Mark" and a C within a circle for copyright. It isn't marked, but is possibly made of sterling. It measures 1-1/16" in height. Don't miss out on adding this great piece of Kewpie doll history to your collection. We attempt to be as accurate as possible with our descriptions, so there are no surprises to the lucky buyer. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
