Here is a very nice and early, 1930's, very rare Popeye character pin, Eugene "the Jeep" to add to your collection. It is being offered here for the first by us. Some of you might remember him from the old Popeye cartoons. He was an odd character to say the least. What he was suppose to be, I still have no idea. But Popeye was, I believe the only one who could see him, and Eugene the Jeep would only say, "Jeep, jeep, jeep." He would give Popeye a run for his money, and would always get himself into some kind of trouble. But Popeye, was always very understanding with him. I guess he was treating the Jeep like a pet, or something like that. This Popeye character pin was not one of the character pins that was put out by the Wheatena cereal company in the 1930's, but rather a store purchase, and was also put out as a premium from the Popsicle company. Anyway this beloved character pin is in very nice condition with the enameling fully intact, with only a little discoloration, within the yellow enameled area. The pin and catch are both in good working order. It measures 1-3/16" in height, by 1" across its widest point.
