Here is a very nice WWII US Navy PT Boat service lapel badge to add to your collection. It was very recently acquired, and is being offered here for the first time by us anywhere. These badges were not official to the PT Boat service, but were still worn by many of its captains and crews. For some reason they didn't make an official insignia for the service, so this one served the purpose. The patent date on the center attachment, is for this type of the all in one pin and catch. The patent date for this pin and catch is from Jan. 1937. Many people think that this is a very modern attachment, but its not. Anyway, this badge is in excellent condition. The boat has a light frosted finish to it. While the wake coming off of the boat has a high gloss to it. That's the way this badge was made. It measures 2-1/2" in length, by 9/16" in height. Both the boat is marked sterling as well as the center attachment. Don't miss out on adding this great piece of WWII US Navy/PT Boat Service history to your collection. We attempt to be as accurate as possible with our descriptions, so there are no surprises to the lucky buyer. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
