Here is a beautiful 1868-1918 50th Anniversary pin for the founding of Masonic Lodge Charity #134 currently in Freeland, Maryland. From what I have found out, this is the only remaining "Moon Lodge" in the the state of Maryland. What I mean is, that it does not have a steady day of the month when their meetings are held. The lodges oral history states that members had the advantage of the light of the full moon to get to their lodge meeting by foot, horse, or buggy at the time. Their current monthly meetings are held September through June, on the Saturday on or before the full moon. This pin would make a great gift for the present Lodge Master, Past-Master, or a new member going in. This would make this the 150th year of Charity Lodges founding. I didn't clean this piece, but could professionally clean it, if the lucky winner would want me to. It is very tarnished from its age, but I do believe that it would clean up very well. It appears to have a gold wash finish over the sterling, by what I see on the back. This pin is in excellent condition for its age, and the enameling is fully intact without any problems. It measures 1-1/6" across the middle, by 3/4" in height, at its center point. The pin and catch are both in good working order as well. Don't miss out on adding this great piece of Masonic history to your collection. We attempt to be as accurate as possible with our descriptions, so there are no surprises to the lucky buyer. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
