Here are two very nice, Masonic Knights Templar Sutton Commandery 16 from New Bedford, Mass. pins to add to your collection. These came together, so we are selling them together. They are being offered for the first time by us anywhere. New Bedford as many will know, is the most well known US whaling ports from the past. Hence, the whale shaped pin, which by the way is dated: Aug. 1895. We are not certain, what the date signifies, but we are definitely sure, that this is when these pins date to. What the pig on the round Sutton pin means, we are not sure. Any information would be greatly appreciated. The whale pin is in excellent condition, without any problems anywhere, and measures 1-5/8" across. The round Sutton (pig) pin is in excellent condition, with the exception of one makers flaw, just to the left of the pigs face, within the black enameling. We thought that it was initially a ding in the black enameling. However under closer examination, with a loupe, (eye piece) it turns out to be a raised piece of white foreign matter within the enameling. It definitely is in the making, and not a ding. It measures 5/8" across. Don't miss out on adding these two great pieces of Masonic, and or New Bedford, Mass. history to your collection. They will be wrapped and packaged very well. We attempt to be as accurate as possible with our descriptions, so there are no surprises to the lucky buyer. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
