Here is a very nice enameled Hugh (Hughes) DePaynes (dePayns) Commandery No. 7 Keene, N.H. membership badge to add to your collection. It was very recently acquired by us, and is being offered by us, for the first time anywhere. In case you are not familiar with Hugh DePayne, he was of French heritage, born in the land of Paynes, a large supporter of the Count of Champagne, and was the first Master and founder of the Templar Order from 1118 -1136. This badge is a very nice quality made piece, and was made by: (The Shepard Mfg. Co. Melrose, N.H. Sterling) It was founded by Chester Shepard and his son Chester Burdelle Shepard. Makers of sterling flatware, souvenir spoons, and novelties. This piece we believe dates to the early 1900's, and is in excellent condition without any problems with the enameling or anything else. It is a nice size piece and of quality weight. It measures 1-1/2" across. Just a quick note:
The spot at about 7-o'clock, was just some dirt residue, and is now gone. We didn't notice it until the photos were viewed. It is now completely gone, no worriers! Don't miss out on adding this piece of American Masonic Memorabilia to your collection. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
