This lovely pin is the image of the Infant baby Jesus in swaddling clothes. He is surrounded by a beautiful wreath of roses which is the symbol of heavenly joy. The image was designed by Della Robbia to adorn the exterior of the Innocents Hospital (home or orphanage for infants) in Florence, Italy. The pin is heavily casted Sterling with a secure barrel clasp. It is signed on the back STERLING by Cini. Cini was founded in Boston, Mass. in 1922 and ceased production in 1970. The pin measures 2" by 2", and weighs 24.5g. The pin has a nice patina and I will leave the polishing to you. I don't like to polish the patina off because it will lose the castings dimension. What a stunning gift for your loved ones Easter basket!
