Here is a very nice original, and scarce to find, circa WWII or earlier, Japanese Order of the Golden Kite, 5th Class to add to your collection. This was a military award of the highest level for bravery given to junior grade officers. If you ever find these enameled vintage medals, many times they have some level of enamel lose. However this one only has one tiny spot right above the eagles head. You might be able to see it in our second photo. It does also have a few tiny areas where the enameling has some cracks. They are extremely minor and are mentioned so there aren't any questions about its complete condition. This medal came from a rather large medal collection that was put together many years ago. The base medal isn't marked, but they are usually made of silver, and this one most definitely appears to be made of silver. This medal hasn't been cleaned in any way. That we will leave up to the lucky buyer. This medal measures just over 3-1/2" in height, by 1-7/8" across its widest point. It will be packed in the former collectors display box that it was found in. Don't miss out on this one, these don't come along very often. It would make a great holiday or birthday gift for that special someone in your life.
