Here is a stunning circa 1890's-1900 bronze figural bell of Baby Stuart from Sir Anthony VanDyke's painting of the young prince . It stands at 4-5/8" in height, and weighs a little over 17 ounces. We have handled many brass bells in the past and this one is definitely much heavier than the standard brass one for its size. It is definitely the nicest figural bell that we have ever handled in over 35 years of being in business. It is stamped Germany, as shown in our last photo, as well as a stamp of either a griffin or some type of lion with a very long curling tail. Below the animal is a capitol "E" in "Old English" style. This marking is probably the makers mark, but we are not certain. The animal mark is upside down to the Germany stamp. This figural bell would make a great addition to anyone's collection. It is in very nice condition, for its age. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Our photos should tell most of the rest.
