Here is a very nice 7/8" 1928 Al Smith Democratic campaign political pinback button to add to your collection. It is being offered here by us for the first time. In case you don't know this. Al Smith was the first Catholic to run for the office of the Presidency. Unfortunately the opposition tried to use that against him. There are even a few period pinbacks that came out that vilified that fact. Negative campaigning has been around for a long time, and even religion was thrown into the mix at that time. I am not sure if it would have any positive affect on a campaign today. But, with the way the air is in this country right now, I don't think that anything is off the table. Anyway this is the scarce variation of this red, white, and blue pinback. What is also nice about this pinback is that it is one of the few from this campaign that you will see Al actually smiling. This button is in excellent condition, and comes with its original makers paper insert. Which shows that it was made by the Western Badge and Novelty Co. St. Paul, Minn. Don't miss out on adding this great piece of Al Smith/Democratic Presidential campaign history to your collection. We attempt to be as accurate as possible with our descriptions, so there are no surprises to the lucky buyer. Our photos should tell you just about all of the rest. Please email us with any questions or concerns that you may have. You will be answered in a timely manner. If asking on or near the weekend, give us a little more time to respond, as we may be away on business.
