This lot consists of three 5"- 51/2" miniature folk art nipple dolls and one nut head doll. They are a charming grouping of early dolls that were manufactured in the USA, possibly Louisiana, in the 1930s. The doll in the gray floral printed trousers comes with a tag from his original owner which reads "Christmas Uncle Clarence 1939." They are an appealing group of folk art dolls that are dressed in similar shirts, trousers, and felt hats. The nut head doll is missing hair and most likely his hat. In general, the dolls remain sturdy, though they do sustain wear (nipple melting, spotting & discoloration) common to their age. The dolls are delightful examples of American folk art.
