This charming Japanese Meiji era bronze sculpture is a beautifully rendered life-like work of art depicting an elephant posed with a raised trunk. The piece dates from the early 20th century & bears the Sei-Ya foundry signature on the belly of the elephant. The patinated bronze is securely mounted upon a carved teak platform. It is a superb antique for an elephant collector. There
is minor wear to the patina on the bronze tusks.
An ebay member messaged that the piece has been painted & should be black all over.
