This delightful vintage bisque bust depicts a child detailed in a colorful costume complete with a fashionable fez cap. The facial features, including rosy cheeks, piercing brown eyes & a pronounced smile speak to the skill of the creator & are reminiscent of the faces of dolls made by Heubach. The bust is beautifully hand painted with vivid colors & gold accents. The young boy holds a document page with the heading "The Ledger". An illegible signature followed by the date 1888 can be seen on the corner of the page. To solidify the sculptor's skill & attention to detail, the back of the page is written top to bottom! This sculpture is outstanding in every aspect, form, color, definition & quality!
