This early 19th century ladies' travel lap desk is designed in leather & features two vertical decorative banded brass decorations. These bands are on either side of a brass shield that is not monogramed. The textured leather case & a desk "flap" open to reveal a violet moray writing area, two glass "wells" & a sectioned paper holder. Each "well" has a worn silver over copper lid. The interior walls are white. Additionally, one finds a narrow mahogany box between the glass "wells" with a velvet lined pen tray behind it. A feather quill accompanies the desk.
