This is an early 970 silver and amethyst necklace by silver master Antonio Pineda. Antonio Pineda Pineda learned his craft working under William Spratling as well as Valentin Vidaurretta before opening his own establishment in 1941. This necklace is comprised of twenty silver framed amethyst pear cabochons. The cabochons are fairly uniform in color being a medium purple. The amethysts exhibit inclusions but there are no cracks or chips. The silver is in fine condition, the links are strong and nothing has been bent. Fine surface scratches that are normal with a piece of this age. Box clasp is not bent and works as it should. Very comfortable on the neck.
