Mahogany two over three 18th Century English Chest 1780 -90. This piece has nicely graduated cock beaded drawers a top tall French style bracket feet. The secondary case wood is Pine faced with a nicely figured matching crotch Mahogany veneer on the drawers that all match in grain figure going down the front of the chest. The top is cross banded and outlined with an Ebony string Inlay. A very pretty chest with a nice aged mellow color to the Mahogany and a great patina.
Condition: Very good. Original surface cleaned and waxed, minor veneer repair and a couple of pieces of cock beading on the drawers replaced. Old Brass pulls have replaced wood knobs at some point in it’s life. Drawers are working properly and gliding smoothly.
