A very nice example of an early New England Tavern Table probably Massachusetts 1780-1815. This is great looking Table with very pleasing proportions. The scrubbed top and the drawer sides and bottom are made out of Pine and the turned leg stretcher base is constructed of Yellow Birch and Maple. This table retains a very old refinish still showing signs of the original Red pigment stain on the underside of the top. All parts and pieces are original to the table, and are in excellent condition. The line across the top in the first two photos is just light reflection.
