These dolls have bisque heads with fixed glass eyes. The 5-piece bodies are considered papier mâché, but are often referred to as compo. They retain the original finish except some of the outer layer has peeled off of the boy's left hand. The dolls are in what appears to be the original factory French Folk Dress, with the costumes sewn on. The heads are marked ɪ 19/0 . The faces need cleaning and the clothing needs both a bit of cleaning and repair. Except as noted, they are in very good condition. They have been black lighted and there are no cracks or repairs. Both are about 6 ¼" tall, but the girl looks a bit taller as her hair is styled higher. A merveilleux couple!
