This wonderful amethyst bracelet is an antique Austro Hungarian piece made at the beginning of the 20th century. The bracelet is crafted with artistry by skilled jewellers of the Emporium but I cannot name the place of manufacture based on the marks which are stamped on the tongue of the closure: three crowns and letter S in a circle. The gilded silver was acid tested positive to sterling silver (made for export to the Western European countries) while those pieces of 800 or 830 silver were crafted for the local jewelry market in Central and Eastern Europe. I tested all the stones and the 5 SMALLER AMETHYSTS are ALL NATURAL of various shades of violet. The OVAL AMETHYST in the center panel shows amethyst PASTE and its color is more intense than of the other 5 rectangular cut natural amethyst stones. The seed pearls are natural and well set in their place, bringing interest and accenting the main panel. The amethyst stones are bezel set open back, surrounded with very fine twisted silver rope. Elements of Renaissance Revival design embellish and adorn each and every panel, including the hidden clasp box that works perfectly. The 6 stations of the bracelet are connected with links that are ornate on top with rosettes of gilded silver. The tiny granulations on each panel create an opulent image of this beautiful well crafted jewelry.
Length of the bracelet is 7.25".
Weight of the bracelet is 38.8 grams of precious materials.
Measurements of the center panel: E-W is 43 mm x N-S is 31 mm x 8 mm high above the skin.
Measurements of the smaller panels: E-W is 20 mm x N-S is 18 mm x 6 mm high above the skin.
Condition is beautiful antique, ready to wear.
