Hello my doll friends and fellow doll lovers! Here from my personal collection, I present to you Ms. Emma Clear’s famous George and Martha Washington dolls. Circa 1940, they are quite early (Martha is signed Clear 40). Beautifully painted and presented as they would’ve been for a inaugural ball, they are stunning in detail. Martha has a orchid painted ribbon in her mob cap. Her over skirt and top were painstakingly recreated for me by a seamstress friend as her original shredded apart, as did George’s vest and cravat. Everything else is original and probably preserved by being covered for so many years! She has cream skirt, 3 slips, matching pantaloons. Martha has a repaired pinky. George has a faded brocade jacket with antique star buttons and breaches with antique buttons, lace cuffs, cravat, and striped vest. All his underwear are original as well. George has a repaired ponytail. They both measure 20” tall. I am selling them for less than I paid originally, the minor flaws are reflected in sale. These are rare dolls for those of you who collect them.
