A beautifully crafted Hobe sautoir necklace, double chain 'charm' bracelet and earrings dates to the early 1960's. The 29" necklace and bracelet feature double sided engraved gold plated chain links, the 3/4" links encasing floating red faceted crystals, coated on one side and vibrant clear red on the other, and silver coated glass beads. The pendants on the necklace and bracelet carry forward the double sided beauty, beautiful double filigree shell, reversible, with vibrant red and white rose montees, and feature the same silver and red beads as the cain. The 2" earrings feature a single layer of filigree but otherwise mirror the elements of the necklace and bracelet pendants.
The earrings are signed Hobe with a tilde over the 'e'. The necklace and bracelet are unsigned. Necklace and bracelet closed with spring closure.
Condition: Very good. Vibrant gold plating exhibits no loss under normal examination. With a 20x jewelers loupe we do see some minor loss. Some of the silver glass beads exhibiting pin pricks of silver plating loss. Minor wear to the red stones does not detract. One missing red crystal on the bracelet pendant.
