A gorgeous statement necklace signed Miriam Haskell on the rear cartouche and on the hook features a 3 1/2" high by 2 7/8" pendant with vibrant and elaborate filigree base and bale, a swirled glass center the color of oxblood red coral with moody accents, English racing green (that's a first for me) glass beads wired in surround, separated by filigree caps and French gold plated faceted steel spacer beads. A heavy 1/2" wide chain measures 14"-17 1/4" in wearable length if you include the extender.
Condition is very good with the only notes being to the gold plating. Verdigris seen on the green bead caps; a touch of gold loss to the chain gives it a a mellower appearance than the photos may suggest, definitely a graduating contrast, with the bale being a bit less vibrant than the centerpiece filigree back.
Double filigree Haskell back ~ more muted on the rear, but definitely Haskell's A-game on the elaborate filigree all around. Including my favorite prongs ~ like little open-work crowns. A definite statement piece and a very fine example of Larry Vrba's early work in the character of vintage Miriam Haskell.
