Quite simply "stunning" set by Elsa Schiaparelli dates to the 1950's. The photos do not do the contrasting white and sky blue givre glass any justice. Set in gold plated metal that looks like sterling, the large and incredibly dimensional 3" brooch has a 1" high profile and is so packed full of pave set rhinestones and channel set baguettes, the yellow gold nearly disappears! The brooch features gorgeous scrolling framed-scrolling petals and three prong set partly-cloudy-blue-sky color givre glass cabochons. Earrings measure 1 1/2" tall by 1 5/16" in width and are a gorgeous variation on the brooch theme.
All pieces signed Schiaparelli in script. Earrings also stamped with the 1952 issued patent 2583988 for the earring clips.
Condition: Very good. Some gold loss, which does not detract. The center stone on the brooch looks to be a well-designed and executed replacement and only can be detected under magnification- it is also very slightly grayer than the flanking stones. On the brooch, two of the baguettes at the end under the curved petal have lost their foiling, vibrant gold appears beneath. Pin prick losses to the foil on several of the other baguettes.
