I acquired this elegant crystal set from an Italian woman, along with two Coppola e Toppo pieces and two Mediterranean coral pieces, in Toronto. Beautifully hand-crafted, featuring incredibly fine soft slate blue crystals in unique and various shapes and cuts, including larger faceted pear shaped, blue aurora borealis crystals, medium multi-faceted crystal rondelles, and silver plated multifaceted crystals. Beautiful deco era brass filigree caps are scattered throughout. The smaller crystal blue spacers that also accent the work on the bracelet clasp are slightly more vibrant and less transparent than the rest of the blue crystals. I would date these pieces to the early 1960's. There are some markings on the edge of the front of the bracelet clasp, but they are too faint for me to decipher. The necklace is unsigned. The pieces are strung on heavy thread. The beautiful box clasp and the bars on the necklace (set with open backed crystals) are custom crafted and heavily plated in rhodium.
Bracelet: 8"; 1 1/8" wide (measuring the centerpiece)
Necklace: 14 1/2" - 17" in wearable length; crystal strands measure 12", 14 1/4", 16 1/2", 19" 21 1/4"; 23 1/2"
Condition: Very good; minor wear is visible under magnification to a few of the crystals, but the necklace appears very clean. The back of the clasp has scratches from wear and possibly someone trying to test the metal. There are no detractions to this set's beauty!
