Outstanding unsigned but unmistakably early Miriam Haskell necklace ~ regal and classic classic classic! Feauturing fully intact and original hand wired rose montees, a large teardrop shaped platinum colored glass baroque pearl centerpiece, two faux pearl accents. Stunning filigree~~ double filigree back and two layers of filigree accents to the front. A rich coiled rope chain beautifully accents the pendant and is captivating on its own. The piece is all around spectacular in its dimensional construction; gracefully and gloriously aged: the patinated gold plating, the darkening of the casings on the rose montees, create a look of an antique heirloom..... like fine gold filigree and antique cut diamonds. The gold plating, although absent in a couple of spots on the filigree that extends out and around the teardrop center (revealing a silver metal~ difficult to spot due to its close proximity to the rhinestones), remains mostly intact, with no dark spots and no verdigris.
Condition: Very good uncleaned condition. A couple of flea bites to the enamel on the teardrop center. Under the filigree swoop, there is a larger piece of missing enamel. But this is covered and will not be seen. A mark to one of the round pearls. We are not sure if this can be removed. It doesn't look like enamel loss. Darkening to the base metal on the rose montee cups. Slight gold plate loss to the chain which cannot be seen under normal observation. All rhinestones intact and appear to be original.
Unsigned as was typical in the 1940's. Miriam Haskell jewelry was unsigned prior to 1948; sporadically signed from 1947-1949.
Measurements: Pendant measures 2 1/2" long by 1 3/4" wide with a 3/4" rise. Chain measures 20" long by 1/4" thickness.
