The painting measures 11 1/2" by 9" oil on hard paper board and 19" by 17" with the frame. The condition is very good. The artist signed at the center lower "Parra" and on reverse "Paris 1947 Parra", also indistinctly "57. busta la famme?". Gines Parra (1896 -1960) was a Spanish painter of a New School of Paris. His works are figurative and simple, consisting of tick dark lines that cut through color fields form. His works are found in collections of numerous institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the National Gallery in Prague, the Museum of Modern Art in San Paulo, the National Museum Queen Sophia of Madrid and many others.
