Ludwig Neu was a German artist who evidently traveled to foreign destinations in search of exotic and interesting subject matter. There are paintings of Orientalist subject matter in the auction record. The present etching of holy men praying in Jerusalem is pencil signed at lower right and is signed and dated in the plate "27", and at lower left in pencil the artist wrote the numeration I believe. There is some browning where the print meets the mat and a slight scuff in the image at lower left center below the left most figure in the white shawl, and there's some disturbance in the paper in the "numeration" at lower left. The print is not currently behind glass. It measures 7 1/2" by 5 3/8" and 15 1/4" by 12 1/4" framed. This should appeal to the collector of Jewish art and Israeli topographical scenes.
