Original lithograph print circa 1870, "Fox-Hunting, The Meet", by the famous American lithographers Currier and Ives. This is not a reproduction. It is the original hand-colored print of the nineteenth century. Like many Currier and Ives prints, it has been subject to abuse over time. Someone probably years ago, clipped out the margins at left and right, leaving only the title. A clever framer can create a new mat that will hide the lost areas. The image area itself is in generally good condition, with rich colors and detail. Some of the water staining that likely led to the margins being clipped off has extended slightly into the image, but it is not all that obvious. This is a fine decorative print of a popular subject---equestrian activity. Old sawn wood boards remain on the reverse. The simple wood frame is old. The measurements are 15 3/4" by 20" framed.
