This Is a limited edition hand signed color lithograph by Philippe Noyer (1917 - 1985). The limited edition art is numbered at lower left 63/325 and signed by the artist in pencil at lower right. Measurements 24" by 28" within the mat and 32 1/2" by 38 1/2" nicely framed in gold bamboo style frame. The subject is quite whimsical, and something of a fantasy---a young attractive woman leans back in a chair, a leopard lounging with her, her hat in hand on the ground next to the leopard, and a macaw standing on its circular perch in front of her, as white lillies float in the air, and butterflies float at far right.....this is art, the fantasy creation of an artistic mind. The lithograph is in excellent condition - framed and under glass, with not one, not two, but three mats, and at that, there is an ornate special little "alcove" in the mat at right, with butterflies occupying the space---this leads me to believe that this framing was very early, and contemporary with the creation and release of the print, perhaps under the supervision of the artist himself. There is a little discoloration of the topmost mat. Biography from net: "Philippe Henri Noyer was born on June 28, 1917 in Lyons, France. After a traditional education at the elite Ecole des Roches, Noyer enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon. Next he moved to Paris, where he worked in decorative arts and advertising. It was during this time he discovered his talent for oil painting, officially starting his painting career in 1943. That same year, Noyer met the famed Parisian art dealer, Emmanuel David, who would promote his work and career. De Noyer became a renowned portrait artist of Paris and London High Society. He was also commissioned to paint American stars including Elizabeth Taylor, Dinah Shore and Jean Wallace. More than 2000 Of Noyer's works can be found in museums and public and private collections worldwide." E
