An antique oil on canvas painting, likely dating to no later than the early 1800's, and possibly even to the prior century, the scene a group of peasants in a scene including an interior conveniently opened for the viewer to see, combined inexplicably with an extensive view beyond at upper left, in the style typical of art of the sixteenth century Breughel era, employed well into the seventeenth century. The art is certainly of Northern European style, perhaps Flemish or Dutch. Measurements are 14" by 12", and 18" by 16" in goldish later frame. The work has been fairly recently relined and one presumes that it has had a number of restorations by various hands over the centuries. St.
