This is a desirable early 1960's poster work created by Chagall for the tourism authority in southern France, the work titled "Nice Soleil Fleurs", printed by Mourlot in Paris in a unnumbered edition of 5000 examples. The work is currently framed under glass in a wood frame. The dimensions as framed 40" by 25 1/2". Chagall (1887-1985) needs little introduction, as one of the most famous artists of the 20th century, and an artist very well known for his printmaking and dream-like imagery of Jewish life.
The condition of lithograph is good as there is mild rippling of the paper, light discoloration possibly from exposure to the moisture/dew at upper left corner. The colors MIGHT be slightly attenuated. Overall it appears to be a nice, original example in quite acceptable and presentable condition. This print has auctioned in Europe to about the $1500 area. Shipping might be safest if rolled in a tube; email to discuss. E
