A set of three small ink and watercolor drawings of figures, each signed and dated 1980 by deceased Puerto Rican painter and graphic artist Joaquin Reyes (1949-1994). Two works are of the same size, 3 1/4" by 5 1/4"and 8" by 10" with the frame, the third slightly smaller at 4" by 3" images, 9" by 8" with the frame. Reyes was born in Santurce, a San Juan suburb. He studied at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas. Around the time these drawings were executed, he also worked in serigraphy. Sadly the artist passed away at the young age of 45, cutting short a career full of promise. His drawings feature an economy of line, simplified imagery, and bright color.
