The painting is by a trained hand, and possibly a listed artist, but unfortunately there is no signature nor any other information that would suggest an artist name. The board and frame suggest it was painted between about 1920 to about 1950 at the very latest----most likely, the 1930's or 1940's. Measuring 9" by 12" without frame, the subject is sandy dunes with scattered blue wildflowers, a tree pair at left center and distant green mountains with clouds beyond. The location might be something like the area around Monterey. The impressionist handling shows the artist was trained in that technique. Condition is good, with normal light soiling and grime that might accumulate over so many decades.
