Offered for sale is this authentic, antique, Indian War Era, white canvas cavalry helmet with a gold-colored hat plate, marked a Size 7. There was probably some sort of plumage at one time attached to the helmet. The Indian Wars lasted for centuries from 1622-1924 approximately. They consisted of multiple conflicts between the American settlers, the U.S. government, European imperial rivalries, including France, Spain, and England against the indigenous peoples of America resulting in their near total destruction.
The cavalry helmet in in near perfect condition, with the exception being the missing plumage, and is consistent with its age and use. It is a rare antique collectible for any military aficionado.
